FOUR DEPLOYMENTS

One initiative, four complementary deployments.

01

INSTITUTIONAL REACH

Société des arts technologiques · Quartier des spectacles, Montréal

A selection of EVASION works exhibited in the heart of the Quartier des spectacles.

  • 200+ people gathered in one place
  • Decision-makers and institutional partners
  • Community members, artists and creatives
  • Sports figures, athletes and invited personalities
  • With Société des arts technologiques, Ballets Intensifs, Pavillons Bloom
02

COMMUNITY ACTIVATION

Bibliothèque de Rivière-des-Prairies · Winter 2024

The exhibition was then hosted in a neighbourhood library, in an institutional and community context.

  • An art workshop with youth from the neighbourhood
  • Young people expressed themselves through art
  • They presented their creations
  • They exhibited alongside the artist
  • Shown to families, peers and City representatives
03

PUBLIC ART EXPERIENCE

Pavillons Bloom · Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles, Ville de Montréal

The exhibition moved outdoors, into the arches of the Pavillons Bloom, directly inside people’s living spaces.

  • Shaded spaces during the day
  • Illuminated spaces at night
  • Safe and comfortable places
  • Meeting points for residents
  • With école secondaire Jean-Grou
04

URBAN LEGACY

District Central, Montréal · Art Public Montréal

The EVASION mural, created with District Central, as part of an urban revitalization effort.

  • A permanent artwork in the urban landscape
  • Contributed to the artist joining the Art Public Montréal network
  • An important recognition in the artist’s path

EVASION marks a turning point in the development of the practice. What began as a body of work expanded into institutional exhibition, community participation and permanent public art, creating a lasting presence within Montréal’s urban landscape.

IMPACT

EVASION marks a turning point in the development of the practice.

EVASION transcended the traditional exhibition format. The initiative moved from a major cultural institution to a neighbourhood library, from youth participation to outdoor public spaces, and ultimately into Montréal’s permanent urban landscape. Each deployment expanded the project’s reach while preserving the same purpose: creating spaces where people can pause, feel, express themselves and reconnect with their environment.

QUOTE

« The project transcends the simple framework of an artistic initiative. It acts as an engine of social transformation. »

Ernest Jr. Edmond
President and Co-founder, Les Ballons Intensifs

Build a project with the same intention.

EVASION is one example of how a vision can be translated into exhibition, public artwork and collective mobilization.
